Perebi is a mixed-voice choir in Oxford, open to singers of all genders and experience levels who want to explore this ancient and joyful tradition.

What to expect:

Learn folk, sacred, and city songs from across Georgia’s regions.

Be guided by Natural Voice leader Holly Taylor-Zuntz.

Can I try before committing?

Yes! If you’ve never tried Georgian singing, and you want to see if Perebi feels right for you, drop Holly a line and you can come to a session for free, before joining for the term. After that we ask for a termly commitment to the choir to help us plan ahead and cover costs.

I am trans/Non Binary. Is the choir for me?

Yes, we welcome singers of all genders and none.

I have never sung before. Is this choir for me?

If you can match pitch and keep a steady rhythm, you’re welcome. Georgian music can be challenging, but also freeing and hugely rewarding.

Do I need to read music?

No, we learn by ear, and resources are provided for home practice.
